This power armor is the most powerful and sought after in Fallout 4. It is also the hardest to find. You need to be at least Level 28+ to have any decent chance of finding parts for this armor in the locations listed below. (You will run into T-60 Power Armor parts instead if you are not high enough level).

Where to Find/Location
Below is a list of locations where you can find X-01 Power Armor set or parts.
Note: Note: Your character level affects your chances of finding parts of this armor. Generally you are more likely to find these at Level 28+
- Behind Proctor Teagan in a cage at The Prydwen is the helmet.
- Buy (or steal) parts from Rowdy at the Atom Cats Garage.
(You can only buy from Rowdy after doing some favors for them.) - In a small secured area at the back of South Boston Military Checkpoint. A terminal (expert) needs to be hacked to have access.
- On the coast to the East of Diamond City -- Near the Custom House Tower, in a building called 'Court 35'. Take the elevator to go up and fight the robots that attack to reveal hidden rooms. Inside press the red button on the wall in each room to open a glass cell with the armor inside.
Levelled spots:
What Power Armor you find at these locations depends on your Level:- In installtion K-21B at the Glowing Sea. You can access it through a trapdoor in the Abandoned Shack towards the West. Inside you will see a bunch of Synths who will ignore you if you are part of The Institute. The power armor is located on the lowest floor. (Missing Left Arm and Right Leg)
- At the National Guard Training Yard there are some pieces lying in the armory. You will have to pick a lock (Master) or hack a terminal (Master) to gain access. There are also traps inside that trigger a Sentry Robot fight.
- Halfway down the road between Nordhagen Beach and Fort Strong, inside a concrete guardhouse. You can just walk in and take it.
- Goodneighbor -- In the tunnels you find in The Big Dig. It is at the end, inside the room with the Legendary Lizard.
- Southwest of Lake Cochituate -- Standing under a tree at the old checkpoint.
- Murkwater Construction Site -- in the water, near the crashed Vertibird.
- East of the Milton General Hospital, near the Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV).

Enclave Hellfire armor is the most advanced power armor developed by the Enclave for its soldiers and specialists. It was introduced in Fallout 3's Broken Steel add-on.
- 2Characteristics
Background[edit | edit source]
The following section is transcluded from Advanced power armor. To modify, please edit the source page.
The development of the first suit of advanced power armor, designated X-01, began shortly before the Great War. The first test batch of the armor, designated X-01 Mk I, was developed for Presidential bodyguards,[1] and served as the baseline for the remnants of the United States military, who developed it into a power armor tailored for the post-War wasteland.[2][3] It represented a radical, new approach to designing powered armor, eschewing traditional armor design philosophies,[4] but was never deployed in larger quantities until the 23rd century. Work on the model was restarted by the Enclave in 2198, although it wasn't until 2215 that the research efforts began in earnest under Presidential mandate, with the first production model created in 2220.[4]
The X-01 advanced powered infantry combat armor is designed for a single human operator, provided with the comfort and protection of a next-generation suit of armor. While the T-51 power armor relied on a lightweight poly-laminate composite shell for protection, the advanced model uses lightweight metal alloys as basis, reinforced with ceramic castings at key points. The resulting space savings allowed for reducing the armor's profile without compromising protection. Classic power armor pauldrons were retired in favor of a hump that encloses the operator's head, significantly reducing the chance of enemy fire damaging the vital areas surrounding the head. Perhaps the most noticeable change was a completely new helmet assembly. The unusal, insect-like design features a pair of polarized eyepieces in place of the usual vision slit, providing superior battlefield awareness. Its angled surfaces also help maximize the chance of outright deflecting projectiles and incoming fire.[5]
The basic hydraulics system and servo-motors that provide the operator with enhanced strength are also high quality models, with improved performance as opposed to the original T-51b.[5] Additional features include an auto-gyro and the ability to lock them in position, allowing the suit to be stored upright (or the operator to take a nap while on guard duty),[6] an air conditioning system for comfort,[7] a radio headset[8], and an urine-recycling system carried over from the T-51b, allowing the operator to survive for weeks without water.[9]
The combination of superior protection, mobility, and strength gave the Enclave a considerable advantage over wastelanders. Enclave's insignia was proudly worn on the breastplates of armors,[10] while rank indicators were typically placed on the arms of the suit.[11] However, while it was considerably powerful, it was not invincible. The Enclave's confidence in its technological superiority allowed the Chosen One to infiltrate Control station Enclave without problem thanks to the assumption that only Enclave troops would wear these suits. More importantly, the garrison at Navarro was defeated by New California Republic troops using conventional weapons and armor, thanks to superior numbers and tactics.[12]
Despite their defeat at Control station Enclave, the Enclave remnants would rally on the East Coast, at Raven Rock and Adams Air Force Base,[13]
The design of the Hellfire focuses on survivability and durability. Due to the thickness and amount of armor, it does not feature angled or rounded armor to maximize the comfort of the operator and avoid limiting internal space. The back-mounted power pack is piped into the superpowered servo-motors using multiple redundant power cables on the armor, allowing the operator to use the Hellfire with surprising amount of agility, surpassing even the Mark II. The characteristic pig's snout helmet completes the protective assembly with its thick armor and heavy-set design, maximizing protection.[14]
While proving superior to its predecessors, the Hellfire armor could not be produced in larges numbers quickly enough to replace the Mark II entirely during the Enclave's war against the East Coast Brotherhood of Steel. Instead, the Enclave High Command deployed them in a supporting role for troops wearing standard issue advanced power armor, or providing them to commanders of elite units, like Enclave Squad Sigma. Despite the superiority of the Hellfire armor, it was produced too late in the war to turn the tide in the Enclave's favor, and the research facilities that produced it were destroyed by the Brotherhood.[15]
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
The Hellfire has the same DR as the T-51b power armor and high durability, and boasts the added benefit of +30 Fire resistance and +1 Strength. The only drawback is that the helmet gives a penalty to Charisma, while the T-51b's does the opposite.
However, the Hellfire can be repaired with other Hellfire armors, whereas the unique T-51b can only be fixed by merchants. The fact that Enclave troops wearing the Hellfire are somewhat uncommon does reduce the appeal, but that should not discourage. It makes excellent armor for companions, as it does not degrade when worn by them. When combined with the extra companions glitch, it will allow you to storm across the wasteland with one mean squad (assuming you can find enough suits).
Note that the armor, as DLC material, cannot be turned in to Casdin for his quest.

Locations[edit | edit source]
- Enclave Hellfire troopers are equipped with Hellfire armor.
Bugs[edit | edit source]
- If the player has a set of 100% repaired armor on themselves and another in their inventory (any repair level), any damage and loss in DR will occur with the stored set, rather than the worn one, allowing for wearing essentially indestructible armor.

'2055 The West Tek Research Facility starts working on a new virus to kill the New Plague. Their viral research and close ties to the federal government eventually lead to them being chosen for the Pan-Immunity Virion Project twenty years later as well as Power Infantry Armor and laser research.
2065 August Increasing need for mobility in the United States mechanized cavalry leads the military to focus the efforts on creating a man-based tank - essentially, a two-legged walking armored unit: Power Armor.
2065-2067 Power Armor research grows and several prototypes are developed, many of which prove to be unworkable in the field. These prototypes pave the way for future advances in military, construction, and fusion technology.
2066 Summer Adding further insult to the Chinese-American relations, the first crude fusion cell is unveiled, one of the results of the Power Armor project. Devices designed for the fusion cell begin to be manufactured. Incorporating fusion power into the general US infrastructure begins, but the process is too slow to supply power to the regions that need it. Nearly eleven years later, few sections of the United States were supplied with fusion power.
2067 The first suit of Power Armor is deployed in Alaska. While lacking the full mobility of future versions, this Power Armor is incredibly effective against Chinese tanks and infantry. Its ability to carry heavy ordinance becomes key in various localized conflicts, and it has the power to destroy entire towns without endangering the wearer. China rushes to create its own versions, but they are many years behind the United States.'
2074 Contrary to their claims of seeking only to retake Alaska from the Reds, American Power Armor units, infantry, and mechanized divisions are deployed to China, but they become bogged down on the mainland, putting a further drain on American resources and supply lines.
2076 June Power Armor prototype completed, resulting in the Power Armor players find in Fallout 1. This is the pinnacle of Power Armor technology before the Great War. Many of these units are sent to China, and they begin to carve a swath through the Chinese forces. The Chinese resources are strained to the breaking point, and the supply lines from the nations China has annexed begin to break down.
2077 January 22 The first domestic use of Power Armor within the United States for crowd and quarantine control. Units originally serving in China and the Anchorage Front Line find themselves fighting Americans at home. Food riots increase, and many civilians are killed. Several soldiers defect from the military both in Canada and the United States. They are captured, and are sent to military prisons.
2198 Enclave works on various new technologies, including Power Armor variations. None of these are much of an improvement over the conventional old school Power Armor, and some are actually worse.
2215 Under Presidential Order, Enclave scientists begin to work on an upgraded version of Power Armor. Many prototypes are developed and tested.

- ↑Fallout 3 Official Game Guide Game of the Year Edition p.41: 'The Enclave
In the recent past, the Enclave—the remains of the United States government—were evacuated to an oil rig off the coast of California. Little is known about what happened to these forces, although the country has a new commander-in-chief: President John Henry Eden. However, recent reports and chatter have pinpointed the resurgence of the Enclave, with their base centered on a secure underground facility known as Raven Rock. Initial contact was made there 35 years ago.
During this time, the new President Eden has been slowly rebuilding his resources, thanks in part to the technology already available at the Raven Rock military base. Vertibirds, weapons, and robots were easy to construct, but human followers were more difficult to find. The answer was to rely on Colonel Autumn, who controls the Enclave soldier forces, as well as creating a propaganda-spewing series of Eyebots sent to roam the Wasteland, spreading hope. Eden could spout his pro-government rhetoric, and promise a return of the pre-war America of legend: a land of white picket fences, baseball, apple pie, and good, old-fashioned American global supremacy.
President Eden's secretive plan all along has been to rule over an America of the 'pure,' free from any mutation. He has learned of a ridiculously ambitious experiment known as Project Purity, and knew the time to strike had come: His Enclave forces would 'reclaim' the Jefferson Memorial. By controlling the purified water, Eden would control the Capital Wasteland, and the rest of the country eventually. What better way to administer modified F.E.V.- which kills anyone infected with any form of mutation-than through the water supply?'

Gannon family Tesla armorFallout 76 X-01 power armor Enclave power armor is a general term that refers to various models of power armor used by the Enclave forces. All of them, aside from the X-01 power armor and the T-51b power armor, which remained in active use at least until 2242, were created by Enclave engineers and scientists after the Great War.BackgroundEdit
- 2198: The Enclave begins the first work since the Great War on the development of various new technologies, including power armor variations. None of these are much of an improvement over the original pre-Great War models of power armor, and some actually prove to be worse when used in actual combat.
- 2215: Under Presidential order, the Enclave's scientists and engineers begin to work on an upgraded version of power armor that exceeds the performance of the T-51b model. Many prototypes are developed and tested.
- October 2220: Enclave scientists finally develop a reliable version of what they call 'advanced power armor.' The prototype's capabilities (and the various accidents, explosions, and deaths involved in its creation) are classified by order of the Enclave's President Dick Richardson for the sake of morale.
- Sometime after 2242: After the destruction of the Oil Rig, the Enclave finished developing a Tesla Power Armor based on the standard advanced power armor, which provides less protection than advanced power armor, Mk II, but allows the wearer to wield energy weapons more effectively.
ModelsEdit
T-51b power armorEdit
Gameplay articles: Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 3, Fallout: New VegasThe T-51b powered Infantry armor represented the peak of armored infantry technology before the Great War, developed in the laboratories of the West TekResearch Facility. At the end of the Anchorage Reclamation in January 2077, the armor had become standard issue for American soldiers in the Army's Mechanized Cavalry Regiments. Now, only the most technologically advanced factions with ties to the pre-Great War American military or federal government, such as the Brotherhood of Steel or the Enclave, have access to this type of power armor. The armor is fitted with a back-mounted TX-28 MicroFusion Pack which generates an output power of 60,000 Watts to power the HiFlo hydraulic systems built into the frame of the suit. Made of a poly-laminate composite, the outer shell of the T-51b is lightweight and capable of absorbing over 2500 Joules of kinetic impact. The 10-micron-thick silver ablative coating can reflect laser and other radiation emissions without damage to the composite subsurface. The armor usually carries enough fuel to last for one thousand years.X-01 power armorEdit
Gameplay article: Fallout 76The X-01 is an experimental Enclave power armor. It has very good ballistic resistance and excellent energy and radiation resistances. It is not easily damaged. When crafted, it is labeled 'Prototype X-01.' Functionally, Prototype and standard X-01 armor are the same except for the paint job.Advanced power armorEdit
The armor was created by the Enclave's skilled team of engineers and scientists after the Great War, as a result of a research program initiated in 2198, part of a larger project to develop various technologies. In 2215 the first suit capable of out-performing the aging T-51b is manufactured, entering service in 2220. Various accidents, explosions, and deaths involved in its creation are classified by order of the Enclave's President Dick Richardson for the sake of morale. It is composed of lightweight metal alloys, reinforced with ceramic castings at key stress points. The motion-assist servo-motors used in the armor appear to be high-quality as well, giving the wearer a +4 strength bonus. The suit has an auto-gyro system to keep it upright and the knees can be locked in position, to prevent the wearer from falling over, if he loses consciousness (i.e. takes a nap) on duty.[1] Additionally, like the T-51b, it includes a recycling system that can convert human waste into drinkable water, enhancing survival.[2]The fan on the back suggests that the armor is powered by a miniature nuclear reactor.Advanced power armor Mk IIEdit
Gameplay articles: Fallout 2, Fallout 3Like its older counterpart, the Mk II version is matte black with a menacing appearance, but with a few significant differences. It is composed entirely of lightweight ceramic composites rather than the usual combination of metal and ceramic plates, with a back-mounted power pack, instead of the built-in ventilated power unit of its predecessor.Early versions used under the command of President Dick Richardson in 2241 used a similar design to the standard advanced power armor. However, following the destruction of their oil rig headquarters, the Enclave forces who made their way to the Capital Wasteland had redesigned its appearance by 2277, while keeping the 'advanced power armor Mk II' designation.Tesla power armorEdit
Mk I variantEdit
Unlike the pre-War Tesla armor, this armor is a variant of the Enclave's advanced power armor jury-rigged with a Tesla device that is capable of dispersing a large percentage of the damage done by directed-energy attacks. Additionally, the armor makes the operation of energy weapons by the wearer easier, boosting the energy weapons skill of the operator. The fan on the back suggests that the armor is powered by a miniature nuclear reactor. The only known suit of this type is the Gannon family Tesla armor.Mk II variantEdit
Gameplay article: Fallout 3This armor is a variant of the Enclave's advanced power armor, Mk. II, outfitted with a Tesla device that is capable of dispersing a large percentage of the damage done by directed-energy attacks. Additionally, the armor makes the operation of energy weapons by the wearer easier, boosting the energy weapons skill of the operator.Hellfire power armorEdit
This armor is the result of a post-War research and development project undertaken by the Enclave at the Adams Air Force Base. It was one of several concurrently active research projects, including one on eyebots and a material called Duraframe, but ultimately came to be the most in-demand project fully completed; other projects, much to the chagrin of researchers such as Whitley, were canceled in favor of the new model of power armor by Colonel Augustus Autumn.[3]As state of the art power armor, it is conclusively the best and most advanced model of power armor revealed to date. It provides its wearers with more protection than any other form of armor produced post-War, due to its unique Duraframe components and high resistance to heat.Athena power armorEdit
The following is based on Van Buren and has not been confirmed by canon sources. An incomplete power armor project pioneered by the Enclave in conjunction with Poseidon Energy. According to initial tests, it had defensive capabilities above and beyond any other infantry armor in use before the Great War.GalleryEdit
